Faculty Search: Interactive Media One-Year Instructor Position
The School of Media Arts & Design (SMAD) at James Madison University invites applications for a one-year, non-renewable teaching position to begin in August 2012. The selected applicant will teach primarily in our foundations area, including professional software such as Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign and Dreamweaver. The candidate will also teach beginning and intermediate web and interactive production courses that are part of our Converged Media concentration.

Jonathan Friedman (SMAD '94) is the winner of a $1 million prize for his Super Bowl commercial. Friedman's commercial, Man's Best Friend, was the top rated spot by a panel of consumers.

SMAD announces the launch of its newest website, SMADshow! The site functions as a showcase for SMAD students. It highlights some of the best student work in print and graphic design, photography, videography, and web development. It also includes SMAD students’ portfolio sites.

My firm is seeking a part-time PR Intern for the summer, so please reach out with any questions and/or resume submissions (see internship description below). Part-time PR Intern Know Public Relations provides brand management, media relations, message development, and media training services to a number of Washington, D.C.'s top culinary brands and personalities. We are currently seeking a part-time PR Intern to assist our high-energy team. Candidates should be able to commit 10-15 hours/week starting June 1 for at least three months, with the potential to continue into fall/winter 2012. The PR Intern will work remotely with minimal daily supervision, and must be available to attend regular check-in meetings in downtown D.C. Work schedule will be flexible. Hourly compensation is offered, as well as the unique opportunity to attend select restaurant industry and client events.
