The Madison Cinema Studies Scholarship

The Madison Cinema Studies Scholarship is endowed by JMU alums, Don and Kate Rhymer.  Don is a successful Hollywood screenwriter. Each year, a $1000 scholarship will be awarded to a rising junior or senior in the Cinema Studies Concentration.  The award is based on financial need and academic performance.  Eligible students must submit an application in the spring of their sophomore or junior year.

Applicants are expected to have an overall grade point average of 2.75
or higher. The selection committee may interview  finalists for the award.

The JMU Journalism Alumni site is for JMU alumni who studied journalism, broadcasting or public relations or related areas at JMU, or who worked in these fields at JMU or after graduation. It is open to alums regardless of JMU major or current occupation.
