JMU Student Newspaper Appoints New Leaders

The Breeze, the student newspaper at James Madison University, has named its top leadership for the 2008-09 publishing year, which begins in April.

Tim Chapman, a rising junior from Centreville, Va., will be The Breeze’s editor-in-chief. JMU’s Media Board appointed Chapman to the post at a recent meeting. Chapman is a School of Media Arts and Design major and has served as The Breeze’s sports editor during the past year. He is the son of Ralph and Janet Chapman.

Additionally, rising senior Greg Groves has been named The Breeze’s student advertising manager. Groves, who is from Ocean Pines, Md., is majoring in marketing in JMU’s College of Business. Groves is an active member of the Air Force Reserve Officer Training Corps, where he has received numerous honors for his leadership abilities. He also has held leadership posts with the Civil Air Patrol. He is the son of Joseph and Nancy Groves.

The Breeze’s new staff begins work on April 1 after a month of training.

JMU Journalism Alumni
The JMU Journalism Alumni site is for JMU alumni who studied journalism, broadcasting or public relations or related areas at JMU, or who worked in these fields at JMU or after graduation. It is open to alums regardless of JMU major or current occupation.
