The Associated Collegiate Press has named The Breeze's online site as one of its Pacemaker finalists. The Pacemaker is one of the most prestigious awards in the nation. The Breeze was one of 20 schools in the non-daily, four-year university category. The Breeze and William and Mary's The Flat Hat were the only two Virginia schools in that category.
Being a finalist is affirmation of the outstanding work Editor Tim Chapman has done in revamping The Breeze's online presence this year. He has led the staff in turning a very basic site into one of the best in the country. Additional kudos to Kim Seese, The Breeze's online editor, who patiently learned how to use a new platform this year; Jamie Brindle, video editor, for leading the effort to get videos online; and the entire editorial staff for being devoted to turning The Breeze into a 24-7 news platform.
