Paul Gleason Accepted to USC School of Cinematic Arts
Posted by SMAD December 2, 2008 SMAD alumnus (Spring 2008) Paul Gleason has been accepted into the Film and Television Production master's program at the University of Southern California (USC) School of Cinematic Arts. Acceptance in the program is highly selective and at any given moment the program has only 50 students. A faculty panel evaluated applications based on originality, clarity, personal insight and artistic excellence. Considerable importance is placed on a personal statement, writing samples, portfolio list and letters of recommendation. The Film & Television Production program emphasizes exploration of the student filmmaker’s creative voice through hands-on filmmaking. Students learn all aspects of cinematic storytelling from writing and producing to directing, post-production and cinematography. Gleason will begin the program in the same semester that a new $100 million cinema arts complex is completed. The complex will contain several sound stages, as well as space for instruction, screenings, conferences, seminars and post-production. SMAD is proud of Paul's accomplishments and we wish him the best in his studies. |
