Live London…Learn London…Love London…This Summer or Fall
![]() |
Posted by SMAD March 19, 2007 It is still possible to participate in JMU’s Semster In London summer program, and both the Fall ‘07 and Spring ’08 semester programs. As you obviously know, London is a magnificent city and JMU students studying in London live and study right in the heart of the life of London. JMU students live in Madison House, just a few blocks from the British Museum, only a short walk from Parliament, the West End Theatre district, and Piccadilly Circus. The Globe Theatre and Tate Modern museum are just a short tube ride away. In other words, you’re right in the middle of it. Several classes satisfy GenEd Cluster II requirements. Several classes satisfy major and minor requirements. All of our classes satisfy that need to learn at the source of knowledge. Why look at a slide when the real thing is easily within reach? Why just read about it, when you can walk within it, and actually live it? We say “the city is your classroom”, because every class ventures into London to learn, every professor uses the city to help teach. And, since every class is a JMU class there’s no transfer of credit concern. Semester In London students participate in group cultural activities (like plays and concerts, tours and picnics), and visit other parts of the UK (like Edinburgh, Stratford, and Brighton). All work and no play really does make Jack a dull boy, so Semester In London students have plenty of free weekends to travel in Europe and the UK, or to just poke around London finding more to marvel about around every corner. So, now’s the time to seriously consider whether you should join us in London. For applications or more information, call the Office of International Programs (568-6419), check the Semester In London website (http://www.jmu.edu/international/abroad/jmu_london/index.shtml), or please call me. I’d love to talk with you. I look forward to hearing from you and seeing you in London. Rustin Greene
