JMU Graduate Premieres Documentary at Court Square Theater

Posted by SMAD September 20, 2007

Recent James Madison University graduate and Harrisonburg resident Nicole Martorana introduces her first documentary, “Changing Landscapes: Growth and Development in Harrisonburg and Rockingham County.” The documentary was researched, videotaped, directed, and edited by Martorana and was created in association with the School of Media Arts and Design, the Department of Writing and Rhetoric, and the Honors Program at JMU as fulfillment of her Senior Honors Thesis. Martorana, a resident of Harrisonburg for 19 years, created the documentary in hopes that it would facilitate open and honest discussion among community members about the often charged topic of growth and development in the area. “Changing Landscapes” will premiere at Court Square Theater in downtown Harrisonburg this Thursday, September 20th at 8:00 pm. A question and answer session with the filmmaker and a panel of those interviewed will follow the film viewing. This event is free and open to the public.
