Meyer received the $1000 One Day/One University Scholarship for digital video studies; juniors Kelly Conniff, Kelly Fisher, and Stephanie Hardman were awarded $1,100 each through the Byrd-Mims Journalism Scholarship for their studies in journalism; and freshman Heather Phillips received the $500 Blanche-Garrett Scholarship for academic excellence, including high performance on SMAD admissions tests.

In addition to congratulating the winners, SMAD would like to thank sponsors of the awards; JMU alumnus and Hollywood screenwriter Don Rhymer; Harrisonburg’s Daily News Record; and SMAD faculty members Drs. George and Marilou Johnson.
