SMAD Students Win SPJ Mark of Excellence Awards

Curio won four awards in the regional Society of Professional Journalists (SPJ) Mark of Excellence competition. One of those, Kelly Jasper's feature on IN8, will go on to the national competition. In the past we have had top national winners in the feature writing, best general-interest magazine, best non-daily newspaper and best feature photo category.


SPJ Announces 2006 Region 2 Mark of Excellence Award Winners

INDIANAPOLIS - The Society of Professional Journalists is pleased to announce the Region 2 Mark of Excellence Award winners for the 2006 calendar year. This year, collegiate journalists submitted more than 3,300 entries in 39 categories across SPJ's 12 regions.

The honorees were awarded certificates on March 31 during the Spring Conference at Virginia Commonwealth University. First-place regional winners will advance to the national round of judging, which takes place in early April. Winners will be announced in mid-May.
