Mr. Danny Stillion, Design Director at IDEO, will present the lecture “Innovation and Design Thinking at IDEO” as part of the College of Arts and Letters Visiting Scholars Program. The lecture is scheduled for Tuesday, November 28th at 7:30 pm. in CS/ISAT room 159. During his visit, Mr. Stillion will visit SMAD classes and meet with students.
Mr. Stillion began working with IDEO as an interaction designer in 1996. He is now Design Director at the Palo Alto office. He has worked across a wide range of product areas including transportation, telecommunications, medical, consumer products, computer-supported group work environments, online application design and service innovation work. His work and perspective has been featured in The Museum of Modern Art (New York), I.D. Magazine, BusinessWeek, ACM Interactions, the IDSA Industrial Design Excellence Awards and the Macworld exposition.
IDEO has contributed to the design and development of many standard-setting innovations, including the first mouse (for Apple Computer) and the world's first notebook computer (for GRID Computer). Other noted product successes include the Palm V, the Handspring Treo, Polaroid's I-Zone instant camera, Zyliss kitchen tools and Oral-B's soft grip kids' toothbrushes.
