Welcome to James Madison University's SMAD Club Web site. Associated with the School of Media Arts & Design (SMAD) within the College of Arts and Letters, the SMAD Club strives to connect SMAD students through fun and educational activities and engaging media projects. We also provide resources to further SMAD students' careers and academic success.
To provide an opportunity for students within the School of Media Arts and Design to gather in a positive environment, which enhances and furthers their media skills and knowledge while encouraging academic and career advancement
A relatively new organization on campus, SMAD Club has taken many forms over the past few years. It was known originally as SIGRAPH, but changed its name to SMAD Club when it was taken over by different leadership in the spring of 2008 in hopes of giving the club some much needed energy.
Fortunately, the change in leadership did spark more interest in the group. Starting in the fall of 2009, the club began to more firmly establish itself, participating in more activities, holding more events, and finally selling the long awaited SMAD T-shirt.
With the help of SMAD club members and newly elected officers, Marie Christopher and Heather Phillips completed the organization recognition process on 2/26/2010.

Our officers are elected each spring to ensure that there is an overlap between years. Each officer holds his/her position for one school year unless he/she is re-elected.
