SMAD Awards Ceremony & Reception
Thursday, April 9th, 6:00 p.m. Festival - Highlands Room

Each year SMAD gives awards to an outstanding graduating senior and for outstanding achievement and outstanding contribution in our concentrations. We also announce the winners of SMAD scholarships. Please consider attending this event to celebrate and honor the accomplishments of your fellow SMAD majors. A reception with hors d'oeuvres and refreshments begins at 6:00, followed by the awards ceremony at 6:30.

SMAD Day

This all-day event includes careers sessions for each concentration, as well as sessions on resume reviews and interviewing tips and a "Jobs & Internships" mixer. Led by SMAD alumni and other working professionals, these sessions are important in developing networking connections that may one day lead to internships or jobs. Plus, you'll get to hear from industry insiders about what it takes to prepare for and succeed in your first job.

The JMU Journalism Alumni site is for JMU alumni who studied journalism, broadcasting or public relations or related areas at JMU, or who worked in these fields at JMU or after graduation. It is open to alums regardless of JMU major or current occupation.
