<title>Faculty Search: Interactive Media One-Year Instructor Position</title>

<description>The School of Media Arts &amp; Design (SMAD) at James Madison University invites applications for a one-year, non-renewable teaching position to begin in August 2012. The selected applicant will teach primarily in our foundations area, including professional software such as Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign and Dreamweaver. The candidate will also teach beginning and intermediate web and interactive production courses that are part of our Converged Media concentration. Required skills include proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite applications, HTML and CSS. The ability to teach basic design principles, such as composition, color theory, typography and layout, is also required. The ability to teach JavaScript, jQuery, MySQL and PHP is a plus, but not required for this one-year position. </description>

<title>SMAD Alumnus Produces Winning Super Bowl Commercial</title>

<description>Jonathan Friedman (SMAD '94) is the winner of a $1 million prize for his Super Bowl commercial. Friedman's commercial, Man's Best Friend, was one of just two consumer-created commercials selected by online voters in the Doritos Crash the Super Bowl contest. Those winners were shown during the Super Bowl and became eligible for the $1 miillion prize sponsored by USA TODAY. </description>
