I migrated to JMU from New York City way back in 1977 to coordinate the Radio/TV/Film concentration of what was then the Department of Communication Arts. For many years I was the main man around here when it came to teaching mass communication theory and media aesthetics. More recently I've inherited a couple of the school's film courses to go along with coordinating the college's Interdisciplinary Minor in Film Studies. Every other summer you can find me in Dublin, Cork or Galway directing JMU's film-oriented Summer in Ireland Writing Program. London, however, is my favorite place on the planet (I ran the university's Semester in a London Program for a few years). So if I'm not in my office when I'm supposed to be, first check the DVD aisles at Barnes & Noble, then have me paged at the British Airways ticket counter, Dulles airport. Cheers!

MACRoCkumentary was produced by SMAD Digital Video students in support of the SMAD Scholarship Fund and MacRock. It recreates the chaos of hosting a grassroots Indie-Rock conference in a rural Virginia college town.
